Alt Taverna is the sound of a restless search for meaning — an indie/folk project shaped by coastlines, questions, and years spent wandering both the world and the self. From early acclaim as a Young Guitarist of the Year runner-up to recording with Manic Street Preachers producer Greg Haver and touring nationally, his path has since taken him to the world of religion and philosophy in London, Barcelona and Dorset. These experiences now echo through his lyrically rich compositions, drawing on influences like Big Thief, Leonard Cohen, and Sufjan Stevens. Already gaining attention in songwriting circles, debut single "The Sea, The Sea" is through to the semi finals of the UK Songwriting Contest, receiving a five-star rating from judges.
